We know that budget constraints and increasing classroom needs places a strain on some teachers who desire but cannot afford to do more for their students. In fact in 2014 it was estimated that teachers across America spent $500 of their own money, over $1.2B, to provide additional but needed supplies to their students
Our Amy in Education program, through the donation of much needed school supplies and time with the teachers (such as lunches and mentorship) is designed to remove some of the financial burden our teachers often face when resources become limited. In December 2015 we informally kicked off one of our approaches as our staff joyfully delivered much needed school supplies to various Bell County and Coryell schools.
